Active mobility leads to dynamic cities
Consultant with an original perspective
Each city, organization, or area is unique. To increase the cycling mode share, it’s therefore not enough just to copy successful solutions from other cities. Besides the hardware (infrastructure) and software (education, communication), several orgware aspects are required. A standard approach for this doesn’t suit.
The mission of New Urban Mobility is to reorganize the urban mobility networks so that walking and cycling become the backbone of the mobility system in the city. That’s what the name New Urban Mobility stands for.
To increase the outcome of a plan, New Urban Mobility takes besides the obvious themes especially the orgware aspects into account. Themes like the involvement of citizens and advocacy groups, the financial means, the role of powerful actors etcetera are essential factors and unfortunately often underexposed.
Examples of how New Urban Mobility adds specific orgware themes, are to organize a challenge, involve decision-makers, and create a step-by-step implementation plan.
